My Background

ABOUT ME: I am a psychotherapist and former tenured professor at Northern New Mexico College. I have also taught at Pacifica Graduate Institute and the College of Santa Fe. In 1998 I founded a national magazine, The Salt Journal, which covered myth, psychology, and religion, and served as Executive Director of the Salt Institute, which sponsored workshops and conferences. I have more than 25 years of experience in working with dreams, myths, and the unconscious. I am also the author of Unfinished Revolution, published by Pittsburgh University Press.

Psychotherapy Practice

My psychotherapy practice, located in Santa Fe, draws on the tradition of depth psychology (especially the Jungian tradition) as well as strands of person-centered and body psychology (also known as somatic psychology). If you are interested in seeing me, you may want to take a look at the information on my practice provided here.

Writing and scholarship

I have an eclectic background as an editor, writer, and scholar specializing in depth psychology. A copy of my CV—and a list of my talks and articles—can be found here.

In April 2020 the University of Pittsburgh Press published my full-length biography of Vaclav Havel. The book can be found on Amazon.com or ordered through University of Pittsburgh Press.
